Paracetamol is a cornerstone of multimodal pain therapy and is recommended as first-line or supportive treatment in numerous acute and chronic pain settings, thanks to its favorable efficacy and safety profile and its opioid-sparing effect [1–4]. Despite guideline recommendations, its use in clinical practice remains heterogeneous, with differences in indications, prescribing patterns, and perceptions of its efficacy across medical specialties. This survey was developed to explore the role of paracetamol in Italian clinical practice, evaluating its use in acute and chronic pain, its perceived efficacy in different pain conditions, combination strategies with other analgesics, clinician and patient satisfaction, and the main critical issues encountered. The study results will provide an updated snapshot of paracetamol use in national clinical practice, identifying any prescribing differences and potential areas for improvement, with the goal of promoting increasingly appropriate and evidence-based use.
